Aware
of its mission to preserve the precious archive under the care of the
Wanda Svevo Historical Archive and to devise projects toward this end,
the Bienal de São Paulo Foundation has prepared projects that are now
being implemented through fundraising activities in the area of culture
and by establishing partnerships within the public and private sectors.
Completed Projects

The
Ciccillo Matarazzo Fund, a set of documents that bear witness to the
life and activities of Francisco Matarazzo Sobrinho, the founder of the
Bienal de São Paulo, was the beneficiary of a preservation and
restoration project that received funding from the Brazilian Ministry of
Culture and technical support from the FUNARTE Center of Photographic Conservation and Preservation.
The project includes diagnostics, cleaning, minor repairs, planning and
re-packaging of textual, graphic and iconographic documents in the
Fund’s care.

This
project made it possible to work on a documental set that is
fundamental to an understanding of the history of the Bienais and
contemporary art. Target reached in the treatment of conservation:
60,000 units. Goal reached in documentary treatment: 70,566 units.
Projects in progress
Creation of a Wanda Svevo Historical Archive Computerized System
The
system is being developed to serve the several types of activities
pursued by the Archive and to enable the availability and research of
the archive online, starting with the following modules:
- Information module
- Archive processing module
- Service module
The
AHWS archive data-structuring and digitalization are underway so that
different modules can function in an integrated way and the system will
be migrated to the platform SQL Server, in a way that makes it possible
to be used via internet.
