The identity of a show is in the visual language that accompanies all the work in the exhibition, from the signage in the exhibition space to the layout of the site. The development of this language is a complex process that involves the translation of curatorial concepts into aspects of design. This year, the organisation behind the 30th Bienal, characterised by its multiplicity of voices, has decided to invite the public to participate in this creative process. The exhibition opens in September, but its visual identity was already being considered last year. In August of 2011 the Bienal called on the public to make proposals and twelve people were selected to participate in a workshop with the Biennial team, the curators and invited designers. The encounter, which took place over the course of a week, resulted in forming the basis for the visual identity we see today. A colletive creation that passed through 30 minds that gave rise to 30 posters which celebrate the 30th Bienal!

Take a look inside the workshop below and get to know who was behind the 30 posters which are available for download here!
