“The initial proposal of the group of designers responsible for the visual identity of the controversial 28th Bienal was a series of silkscreen interventions over the posters of previous Bienals, with the inclusion of the edition’s logo. The idea reflected the curatorship’s impulse to rescue the Bienal’s historical archive – reinforced by the installation of a library in the exhibition space – and to rethink the models of the Bienal events. The proposal was synthesized in a single intervention over the first edition’s poster, created by Antônio Maluf, one of the main references for curator Ivo Mesquita.”
